How To Apply

Participants will be chosen by a competitive application process, to participate in an intensive energy training course that includes classroom training and hands-on experience. Tuition, materials, lodging, and meal expenses will be fully paid for successful applicants, along with most or all travel expenses. After successfully completing this training, graduates will return to their communities to provide energy-related technical assistance, and will develop a network for information-sharing and support.

If you are a Cooperative Extension Service agent or specialist from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, we'd like to hear from you. Field staff members from any other USDA agency are also welcome to apply.

Application materials are available in both Adobe Acrobat (pdf) and Microsoft Word.

You will need either Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader version 7.0 or higher to save changes and e-mail the pdf versions of the forms. Note: Earlier versions of Adobe Reader (prior to 7.0) will not allow you to save changes.
